senior dir to avpI took a two year international #### as a senior director. One year into the job I got a promotion to AVP and changed jobs to a different department. I tried hard to negotiate for a salary increase but was not successful. However I was able to get a substantial bonus increase of 150%. This means my salary is at my 2005 level (when I signed the contract to come overseas). I have been asked to stay a 3rd year but will not unless I get a salary increase. Is there a range %-wise when moving up the management chain that I should ask for? 10-20%? If it were me, I' d propose a salary increase, given the size of your bonus, in the 10% to 15% range, assuming you' ve performed well and can justify the increase, which I' ll bet you can... I will try that. I asked at my home company and #### vice presidents are in a different range from senior directors but there is an overlap - the high end of senior directors falls into the range of the low end of #### vice presidents. I am in the middle of the senior director pay band and the middle of the AVP range is about 50% higher, so I think I' ll try for 15%. | |
