Increase Salary RequestI am wondering what other resources there are except for Salary.com to look at comparable salaries.? I went in to discuss my options and I was told to put together something NOT using salary.com, and then come back to them. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
There are 2 approaches that make some sense to me. Take your most recent salary and come up with an anticipated salary range that's at least 10% to 15% higher. That way you can say your anticipated salary is negotiable within the $X to $Y range. Next, you can figure out what income stream you require in order to pay your bills, make ends meet, and at least maintain your present standard of living. Take that annualized amount and call it $A. Add about $10K to $A to come up with the top of your "can't go below" amount to come up with your $B amount. Next, compare both salary ranges and make any adjustments necessary to come up with a realistic range that's reflective not only of your income needs, but also reflective of a reasonable salary range that's reflective of your experience, training, performance, skills, and education.
