Should I ask for a RaiseHi I am an accountant at a resort, I have been working at my job now for about a year and a half. I have my BA degree in accounting and am being paid 33k a year. My job consist of numeriosu thing that should be divided for two people. Would it be too much to ask for a raise, or maybe too soon? Thanks Most companies do an annual review. Ask your boss when that will be. Remember, though, a 3% raise (which would be a pretty good one) doesn' t make up for doing twice the work. You either are willing to do that or you're not.
Tess Make a list of your responsibilities and achievements since you've been there. Also include your accomplishments - goals met, objectives achieved, initiatives taken, addition responsibilities assumed. Then ask whoever the right person happens to be for a performance and salary review. If you're asked what sort of increase you have in mind, I'd say I was anticipating an increase within the 3% to 5% range and see what happens. Hope this helps. Paul W.
