Rate to charge for housekeepingI live in Livingston County, MI and am have been offered a house cleaning job. This isn't the type of work I've done for payment in the past, so I haven't a clue how much to charge. Does a housekeeper charge by the hour or by the day? Any idea how to determine a rate? I want to be fair, as the people I will be cleaning for are members of my church. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Whether you charge by the hour or by the day is up to you, but I'd suggest that an hourly rate, assuming you mean house cleaning, around $10 to $12 per hour, also assuming the person for whom you're going to work provides all the supplies.
