Am I being greedy

I currently work as a Systems Engineer where I am easily underpaid by about 20-25K based on others I have talked to.  Well today I received an offer letter  of 65K that brings me up 22K  over what I am currently making.  The rest of the offer is on par with what I currently have.

As its been told to me before, this is the best chance I have to get the most money I can.  Should I ask for more (70K) based on the expressed desire for the skills I posses?  I am also considering asking for 4 weeks PTO instead of the company policy of 3 weeks since this is in line with what I currently have.

I have no problem accepting the current offer but I don't want to regret a missed opportunity.

Any advice?

You can certainly ask for more, but how much do you want to risk? The company could easily view you as being greedy and pull the offer, especially if they know this is already a big leap in pay for you.

With no disrespect intended, I cannot imagine being offered a new job that pays $22K more than you're earning now and, apparently, 3 weeks of paid time off and wondering if you should try to negotiate even more?  If I were you, I'd grab this job in a heartbeat.  If you want more money, ask about the possibility of a performance and salary review in 6 months, which should give you plenty of time to prove what you can accomplish and earn an increase!  You also mention that their policy is 3 weeks of PTO, I think it would be a terrible mistake to try and negotiate another week of paid time off at this point.  Greed, like beauty, is often in the eye of the beholder, so why take the chance of appearing greedy to this employer by trying to negotiate more or asking for more time off?  It's obviously up to you, but you could be putting this opportunity at risk if you try to negotiate more money or to be paid for not working another week per year.

Thanks for the replies.  It is exactly the perspective that I am searching for.  I know how fortunate I am.  I do not want to risk the offer for a couple of thousand more.  The salary and performance review are 8 and 15 months out respectively.  I will try to ask for participation in this year's performance review to ensure that I am on track for a slary review next year.

Take the job, say thank you and prove that you're worth it.  Don't be stupid with such a huge increase.
