2 potential jobs, only want one

I interviewed for 2 positions in different companies.   Just had the second interview with one company and was left feeling that I would be the candidate they want .   The company is moving to new offices the end of the week and the woman wants me to contact her by Thursday. (4/26/07)      I feel I want this job because the benefits and what it offers me is far more than the other company.

Now about the other company,   An agency sent me for a job in collections and it would start out as temp to perm.   For the first 65 days I would be on the payroll of the agency at about $15.50 an hour.   I would have no benefits and there would be no guarantee that even before the 65 days are up that I would still have a job.

My quandry is this,  If the other company calls me and says I can start I would be happy but I really want the other job.   How do I let this woman know that I want to work with her and not make it seem like I am being pushy or forcing them to make a decision they probably don't want to make until their move is completed and they can find a place for me.

Please help me.

I think you have to treat each employment opportunity as if it was a totally stand-alone situation.  Since your second interview with the company you prefer is tomorrow, the lag between job offer and acceptance may not be very long, so it may work out just fine for you.  Depending on when the people with the temp job want you to start, you could accept that job until the company you really want to work for offers you employment - it is a temp job after all - and it might be a fill-in position for you if you need the job and income right away.  On the other hand, if you're offered the job you really want tomorrow and it's an offer you'd otherwise be happy to accept - accept it and ask them when they want you to start.  Sounds like their move could be completed in just a few days, so it may not matter one way or the other.  Just let it all play out naturally.  Zat help?

Thank You for the reply.   I think I will let this all play out as you say and see what happens.   I really don't want the temp job and they would not offer me anything exciting .
