Asking for the Review
Hi, I have been working for a firm for the past six months now, and as a condition on my hire, I was promised a review after 6 months to get my salary up to my "desired range." It has been two weeks since the 6mos and I would like to initiate this review. How do I ask for this review properly? Not to give you a short answer, but all you have to do is politely remind the person who told you that you'd have a 6 month review that it's time. Just say something like, "I just wanted to remind you that the six month review we discussed when I stated has passed. If it's not inconvenient, would it be possible to get the review on your calendar?" Or words along those lines - all you're doing is reminding the proper person of the review he or she has probably forgotten. Paul W. Barada The Negotiation Expert
