provisions .vs incentive or sec contra

My most recent employment ended in rather abrubpt termination last week. the fairness of which is another matter. ( i may touch on after my msg.)

Gladly I have gone ahead and applied for several other positions that may be consider the same just under a different roof. And, with warm welcome competitive employers are now calling and requesting interviews. my first being in the morning, tommorrow. I expect i will get the job and no immediate worries. -- but 1 concern.

Of course I would like more money. That should usually apply to most people.

The industry I work in is by nature retail (Electronics). My particular job is in Service ( *Tech&Repair*/=customer).

As a technician ....... I've been promoted several times & rather quickly ... all is good...

i've developed an interest in working on a somewhat more comprehensive unit set than the other techs i work(ed) with.

more specifically ... say .. a laptop or notebook computer .vs a desktop computer

What may I be fair to expect/require from a new employer -- as, while I admit I make a mistake w/former employer, I would like some
added security and incentive or "and/or".

to touch on the above issue w/previous employer ... like i said i made a mistake .. ( very miniscule scratch to an LCD screen )
but, ..... I am in a situation where I am exposed to the possibility of making a mistake while the rest of the staff is not.
the employer (previous) has no documented policy covering issues like this (that i've commited to an awareness of -- and out of interest i have searched otherwise for any policies i may need to know -- knowing this store often fails to tell you anything but the very bare minimum)

any help'd be ap'rec'd

thanx

I think (a) you are in a crowded field, (b) you deal with products that are fast becoming disposable commodities and (c) you were terminated from your last job.

If you get an offer and it is anywhere near a reasonable offer, I would suggest taking it. Right now you aren't in a position to be asking for security and/or incentive.

Since you' re not employed, I don' t think you have a lot of options, assuming you need a job at this point.  If you' re made a job offer that' s comparable to what you were doing before and earning about what you were before - at least enough to allow you to pay all the bills and make ends meet, take the job!   Prior to actually accepting the job, however, you might ask if you can review a copy of the company' s policy manual - just so you' ll know what to expect, but I don' t think you can expect any policy manual to provide the type of "security" your seeking.  Additional incentives might be part of the package, but they might not, too.  Sounds to me  like you need a job at this point.
