Wage Requirements with Resume

When a company asks for your wage requirements along with submitting your resume, what is the appropriate way to do this?

Should I put what I expect, or say negotiable?

Thank you

Here' s exactly the way I' d respond: "Depending on the requirements of the job, my anticipated salary is negotiable within the $X to $Y range."  Just make sure that if you' re offered $X that you' ll be happy to take the job and if you' re offered $Y you' ll be extremely happy to take the job.  In other words, make sure you' re anticipated salary range is realistic for you based on your income requirements.  Zat help?

Thank you. Yes this does help, a lot! I wasn' t sure at all how to handle this.

I was in an interview and low balled the salary amount because I was so nervous. Now they are going to present me an offer this Wed. I don' t know what to do if they come in on the low end.

Any ways. Thank you,

If they do offer you a salary that' s too low, you can still politely ask if their offer is negotiable - on the basis that now that you have a better idea of the requirements of the job and, hopefully, how well your qualifications match those requirements, you were anticipating a salary offer in the $X to $Y range.  The worst thing that can happen is they' ll tell you the salary isn' t negotiable and you might have to pass on this opportunity.
