which way do I goI have worked as an Administrative Assistant for a not-for-profit agency for 4 years, then I needed more money and went to work for a charter school (he broke his contract) that I would have summers off and once I started working for him he then told me that I have to work during summers. So.................After 5 months I left, and went to work for a big company (Title Company) as a Receptionist paying good money. I stayed there for around 5 years then went to back to school and minored in Real Estate I then went on to temp and they kept putting me in Jobs that were with mortgage companies. Thus, starting my career path in Real Estate/Mortages. I Started working several companies staying only for the duration of my temp contract (3 Jobs) and recieving unemployment (3 times) I finally landed a job as a loan Officer and I closed 12 deals in less then 4 months! Then the company started stealing my deals they got sooooo greedy that they wanted me to go to another branch and I declined. I took unemployment which was the 3rd time and decided to operate out of the basement of my home. However, I have to come up with the funding to operate which is minimumal but my problem is that I still need a regular job! I keep geting calls from Mortgage Companies which is great but I really just need any kind of job (I did not finish College and can' t afford to at this point) I do not know what path to take I just need a job ASAP! And if I were to go back into Administrative work how do I incoporate the Jump and the unemployment! Please help!!!!!!!! p.s. I am also a very young looking forty year old If you' re getting calls from mortgage companies offering you jobs, why don' t you accept one of them? That would seem to me to be the firs thing to do. Secondly, if you want to start your own business, there are tons of programs that will offer you some start-up financing - banks, the Small Business Administration, and a variety of local and state entrepreneurial programs just for people like you. Depending on how all this unfolds, I think you need to also stick with one job and do the best you can to keep that job until your own business is solidly off the ground - keeping in mind that 8 out of every 10 new small business start-ups fail within the first two years. So, keep your day job until your business has made it past at least the two-year mark. Zat help? Thank you very much for your response. However, I forgot to mention that working in mortgages and starting a mortgage business is a conflict of interest and a no no. So I guess I will look for another job, plus working in mortgages you are not going to get a steady income. I need work so I will continue to beat the pavement! | |
