Question

I would like to know the definition of 'competitive compensation'.

I have an idea, but I want to get clarity. Thanks.

(No need to shout!)  Generally speaking, "competitive compensation" is an illusory term that suggests that an employer is offering salaries that are comparable to those offered by other employers for essentially the same jobs within the same industry.  It's important to keep in mind, however, that there are many variables that don't ordinarily factor into that rather narrow definition - things like flexible hours, working conditions, working from home, the interpersonal relationships among the other employees, commuting, what's in the benefit package, and a whole lot of other variables that don't fall under just the "how much money" is being offered to attract the level of talent the employer is seeking.
