Listing Military Deployment Experience
I'm new to these boards, but I'm about to get my MA, and I thought that resume advice would be a good place to start. I'm a bit apprehensive about the job search because my military experience made my degrees take a lot longer than those of my peers; I'll be 30 years old applying for the same jobs that my 25-year-old fellow graduates will be. Sorry for the digression. In any case, I was in the Reserves (which means I usually served one weekend per month), and deployed overseas several times. My most recent deployment was from 11/01-12/02, although I was actually in and employed by the military from 04/96-04/04. I'm just not sure of the best way to express this on a resume. Most of the responsibilities I had overseas I still had while on reserve status, although I worked up to them gradually. I'm pasting my present resume here. If anyone has any suggestions for this issue (or about anything at all, of course), I would appreciate your comments so much. (The bit about the military is the last entry in my Experience section.) Thank you in advance! P.S. I notice that my formatting didn't paste very well--please disregard it. Thanks!
