Travel/Volunteer SectionHi, I wanted to find out if it would be appropriate to have a travel/volunteer section on my resume. I spent many months traveling and volunteering in South America and also spent a few teaching english in Spain two years prior to that. Do you think that this experience should stand in its own section? I originally placed these two experiences on my resume in chronological order because I thought potential employers would see the big gap in employment and wonder why I didn't have a job. But now I feel it's not doing me any justice. I'm applying for work in Marketing, where the most recent experience the employer sees is that I was abroad, not working in marketing. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Also, is it necessary to have an Objective section? If I state in my cover letter I'm applying to that specific job, is it even necessary to have an Objective? Thanks for your help! | |
