I quit after 4 months
I worked at a company for over 25 years and the department I was in closed. Luckily I found another job within the company. I was thrilled to be able to stay with my company and thrilled to even have a job! Unfortunately it was a horrible fit for me. I left after 4 months. How can I spin this so it doesn't come off as sounding like I'm a quitter? It was the worst job I've ever had and there was NO way I could have stayed on. I have an interview next week and I am going to have to give a good reason for this company to want to invest in me.
Hi Hunter, After 25 years with one company, there's no way you would be perceived as a "quitter." Focus on the positive aspect of your job change -- the company valued your performance so much that they retained you after your department closed. Your resume should emphasize your accomplishments from your previous role with the company. Wishing you good luck at the interview! Take care, Kim Isaacs The Resume Expert | |
