help with reason for leaving
Hello my name is Jamie. I need advice on what to put for my reason for leaving from my last employer. I was fired for a "policy violation" BUT I had done what my acting manager told me to do (to keep it short, we had personal problems between our families that he brought to work. My district manager contacted HR for me and they were evaluating the situation). HR is "looking into" why he told me to fill an expense report the way I did and why he does them the same way BUT I'm jobless regardless. I never had any problems the 14 months I was there before this and don't know how to explain the situation to a new employer. The job before this I held for 5 years so I have a good work history with no problems what so ever. Any advice would be much appreciated!
If a potential employer were to contact this company and inquire about you, what would this company say? Some companies will not do anything other than acknowledge your employment dates. Others will give a more rounded explanation of your time with them and reasons for leaving. I'd suggest finding out what your former employer will tell others before deciding what you'll tell others.
I'm sorry, Jamie, but I'm still having a hard time understanding what happened. it sounds like you put in personal items for reimbursement on an expense report, as directed by your manager, and got fired for it. Is that it? | |
