Put college graduation year on resume

I have about 10 years of business experience, 7 in my industry.  However, only last year did I finally complete my Bachelor's Degree (while working).

Should I be including the year of my degree on my resume, or am I hurting myself by pointing out that I just finished it last year.  On the other hand, could I be helping myself by showing prospective employers that I had the ability to work full time and finish school at the same time?

I'm really trying to tweak my resume to make it the best it can be...

Thanks.

Hi jcm,

"On the other hand, could I be helping myself by showing prospectiveemployers that I had the ability to work full time and finish school atthe same time?"

That's exactly right. I would include your degree date because it looks good that you had the motivation and tenacity to complete your degree while working full time. Place Education after Experience, though, because your ten years of experience is your main selling point. You might want to include a note in your qualifications summary and cover letter that you completed your degree while working full time.

One danger with including it can reveal the age of some folks or show a gap between their graduation and first job.

Certainly metion it, after experience. DO NOT bragg about it though. The piece of paper will get you job and more $$ then someone without. However, because you asked such an entry level question I would suggest reading some books about resumes. Like whay color is your parachutte (hope I spelled that right)  :)

Also, I bet you have an OBJECTIVE? on your resume? if so, get rid of it.
