Since no one has an overall opinion, allow me to be the first to criticize.

I feel the whole "Objective" section of my resume is weak. It sounds, to me, too much like someone who is fixated on what they want and reveals nothing about my characteristics and personality. I would like to find a way to develop an introduction that works for both a classroom teaching position and positions outside of the classroom in a training position.

In my opinion, my resume should immediately convey the impression of who I am and and the qualities that I will bring with me to the work place. Since most resume formats I've researched have some sort of objective as the first item, how can I do this?

As a side note, it might be helpful to realize that as an educator, the term "objective" is defined as a clearly identified goal that can be analyzed and measured as to success of failure. It is something that is learned, or not learned but avoids any subjective judgements. Unfortunately, in order to get a full estimate of me as a potential employee, I need to include subjective material.

Thanks in advance,
David

David -

1.  Your resume is too indirect and wordy for me.  For example, I'd replace your first Objective with

A position as an Elementary Education teacher.

No unnecessary stuff about returning, and the community resources available.

Similarly at Eunice, just say "Taught 4th grade for one year and 5th grade for two years."

2. Watch your verb tenses.

change "develops positive interpersonal relationships with students; willingly adapts to student needs."

to "develop positive interpersonal relationships with students; willingly adapt to student needs."  and drop the "willingly"!

Change "Maintain the classroom was in proper order upon the regular teacher's return." to MaintanED the classroom was in proper order upon the regular teacher's return."

Drop "Have" from "Have taught 7th/8th grade Geog.", and spell out Geography.

Push your Achievements to the front of your resume, and drop the extraneous stuff like library work.
