Multiple pages are okayIs it really bad to have more than one page for your resume? If you can make it fit on one page, is this the most ideal way?
Hi rbenator This is from our Resume Expert......... A 2-page resume is justified if you have 10+ years of experiencerelated to your goal. Try to break your experience section up using amix of narrative format (to describe your job responsibilities) andbullets (to highlight your achievements). The purpose ofbullets is to emphasize key points, but if you bullet everything, youdilute the impact of your important accomplishments. Plus, hiringmanagers are quickly scanning resumes - especially on the first pass -so long lists of bullets can appear cumbersome to read. Try to cap themoff at 6-8 per position. Thanks!
Thanks, MCCathy! rbenator, yes, it's better to go to two pages than to try to cram lots of information on one page. Most professionals need two pages to adequately demonstrate their career accomplishments and key skills. Good luck in your job search! Kim Isaacs The Resume Expert | |
