is this a FATAL resume error

I just realized I did the dumbest thing, and forgot to delete the tracks that micrsoft word make when editing a document...I had the comments hidden when i was working on my computer so didn't know that they were still there when I sent it off.  frown

So when my prospective employer opens the file, I'm PRETTY SURE they will see all the microsoft edits and whatnot on my resume.

Is this clumsy error on my part going to kill my chances at getting the job??  I really hope not, but I want to know the truth, so please share your thoughts!

Thank you!

It could be.  Depends on the reviewer, your total package, and how many other applicants there are.  If this is a job you are really interested in--just resubmit and indicate what happened. If it is not, keep searching for your dream job.   They will either be understanding and process your new resume or toss it to the side.  Thankfully there are many jobs out there--you will get one if you don't stop.  Hope this helps.

Thomas

Hi webster64,

This is pretty common, so I wouldn't worry about it (unless there was something incriminating in the comments -- I recently saw opened a resume that had Track Changes on, and one of the comments suggested "stretching" dates to fill a gap).

Like Thomas suggested, re-submit your resume.

Best wishes,
