Help

I'm an older business women that has been in purchasing for 20 plus years. For the last 5 years I have been placed in various temp.  buyer positions for short periods of time; ie: 3 weeks, 5 months, etc.

Question: How do I state that on my resume with out looking like a job hopper?

I would appreciate any and all responses to my dilema!

Thank you,

Carla

I would use the title or position that you had the longest and cover all the duties under that title.  For example, I worked for the same department for several years and had different duties my last few years.  Instead of listing each one separately, I lumped them together under one related title.  Do your best to link all these jobs so it appears (as it sounds) that you were given different assignments--which shows that you have many skills and can move very comfortably from one area to another.  Do not downplay the variety --use it to your advantage.

Hi Carla,

Thomas gave you great advice about grouping your temp experiences under one header. You can format like this:

Buyer (various temp agencies), 2002 to present

You can then provide a brief description of the scope of your assignments, followed by a bulleted list of your top accomplishments. Keep your bullets results-driven as your field is driven by cost savings, vendor relationships built, discounts negotiated, quality merchandise sourced, etc.

Good luck!

Thank you so much, this can only help! Do you critique resumes? In other words can someone send you their resume and you give them advise? for a fee? If not, thank you again.

Regards
