When to add jobWhen do you add your current job to your resume? I worked for almost 9 years for the same company before being laid off due to budget cutbacks. I finally found a job (although no where near the type that I am looking for); I have been there for 9 months and wondered do you wait until you have been there a year to add it or should I add it now? When filling out a job application, I do list that job, just wondered about formally adding it to my resume. Thanks for any help. Debbie
Hi Debbie, You should update your resume as soon as possible after getting a new position. You never know what might happen with your new position, and you don't want to scramble at the last minute if you need to send someone an updated version of your resume. Also, any applications that you complete should include your current job. Best wishes, Kim Isaacs The Resume Expert | |
