Thanks for noticing that. It was in the present tense when I had the job and I forgot to change it when I left the job. Yes I'm a recent grad. Any other suggestions?
No problem I'm also working on my resume too. wink

In your objective statement I think it's a little long and it sounds like a run on sentence. I know the format for your resume became convulted when you upload it online but I really recomend to not center the body of your resume. It makes it very chunky and hard to read. Try to make it read from left to right. Use my resume as an example, it's not perfect but it's something you should aim for. :)

Umm.... well that's all I could see.

Hyperbolie,

Thank you, thank you very much...Jo

Other opinions/critiques please????

You could really use the help of a professional  with your resume. I am  going to cut and paste portions below so you will begin to see the problems.

CAREER OBJECTIVE
In search of a job opportunity where I may (are you not sure of your abilities? the word may implies a question) be able to demonstrate a variety of skills including exceptional written and verbal communication, time management, and the ability to learn and apply new and existing concepts to support strategic initiatives.

Consider revising to state: PROFESSIONAL PROFILE instead of Career Objective.

remove the commas in red

EDUCATION
Master of Business Administration: Human Resources Management,

Human Resource Management Certificate,
Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis 2003

Bachelor of Science: Marketing,
Southern University and Agricultural & Mechanical College 1999

Also, I see only one place where you have listed any accomplishments on your resume. If you want to stand out from the crowd, your resume should reflect major accomplishments in any/all positions.

Be careful about the tenses you use as they can sound like something you cut and pasted from your job responsibilities:

Louisiana Department of State Civil Service - Staffing Division
Human Resources Consultant
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
2006 – 2007
* Provides (try using something like: responsible for coordination and assistance with personnel placement for state agencies)

* Develops minimum qualifications through job studies or when requested by agencies
* Serves as a member of the Online Application Team, preparing for the installation of statewide online employment applications through Civil Service

These are just a few suggestions and I hope they will help you out. There is much that could be done to make your resume stronger.

good luck! smile

Thanks for the assistance.

You are very welcome!
