Company changed names

The company I work for recently was purchased and has changed names.  I still have the same job title however, my job duties have changed significantly.  My job used to be more benefits oriented and now I'm more payroll and administrative support.  I'm not sure how to show the changes on my resume and I definitely want to keep my old job duties on there since they would be the ones I seek in a new job.

I need any formating suggestions.....

Hi H815,

You can include both company names under one heading so you don't have to create separate entries. Something like this:

ABC COMPANY (Acquired DEF COMPANY in 2007)
Job Title, Overall Dates

You can then provide a brief paragraph describing the scope of duties from both positions, but highlight the responsibilities that are most related to your current goal. After your short paragraph, write a bulleted list of your top accomplishments, again focusing on the ones that are relevant to your current job target.

If layoffs were associated with the new corporate structure, you can say that you were retained during a time of restructuring -- this will show that your performance was valued by the new owners.

Best wishes,
