Duties:With over 20 years as a professional in the field of InformationTechnology, Ms. Rice possesses extensive skills in implementing,maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering local and remoteManagement Information Systems (MIS). Ms.Rice leads a system administration team who are responsible for theinstallation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of over 40HP standard and blade servers running Windows Server 2003 EnterpriseEdition in both a non-secure and secure, terminal services environment.Those responsibilities also include information systems security,ensuring servers are appropriately patched and that data is effectivelyand securely backed up. As the Air and Space Expeditionary Force Center’s (AEF Center) Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Ms. Rice ensures that Air Force, Langley Air Force Base, and local AEF Center security policies are followed. Ms.Rice provides guidance to fellow team members as well as customers onthe proper method to install and use Information Systems on the SecureInternet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet). Ms.Rice also created and routinely disseminates procedures for the safetransfer of data from SIPRNet networks to the Non-secure InternetProtocol Router Network (NIPRNet). Ms. Riceand her team are also responsible for accreditation and certificationof SIPRNet equipment on the Langley SIPRNet network. Ms.Rice also creates and maintains documentation to assist withconfiguration, hardware/software tracking, license tracking,maintenance plans, continuity of operations plans and documentmanagement for both administrators and customers. UsingAir Force mandated policies and procedures; Ms. Rice’s responsibilitiesalso include attending seminars and technology expositions, researchingand recommending the purchase of new hardware to fulfill in-houserequirements and offsite initiatives based on requirements analysis.Ms. Rice’s management responsibilities include setting priorities on ateam and individual level, monitoring ongoing tasks and projects aswell as proposing new tasks /processes to better performance and meetthe needs of customers. Specifically in the past three years Ms. Ricehas implemented a new backup and offsite storage plan (gatheredrequirements, researched alternatives, purchased hardware and softwareand developed a backup and offsite rotation schedule). (01/01/2000 - 03/28/2003) - Network Engineer Ft Eustis, Newport News, Virginia Duties: Assigned to the Automation Support Division - Operations and Support Directorate of the Army Training Support Center (ATSC) at FT Eustis, VA. Responsibilitiesinclude the implementation and administration of management informationsystems and the ATSC server farm to include installation, cabling,configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of 44 Compaq and Dellservers in an Ethernet/ATM environment based on requirements analysisand system requirements. The server farm supports all directorates (approx 600 users), at ATSC in a multi-domain setting. Ofthese 44 servers, 3 are Network-Attached Storage Devices (NAS) made byNetwork Appliance that serve as user-level and directorate-levelstorage facilities, as well as documentation storage.
