Gap In Full time EmploymentHello, I was laid off in July of 2006 after my company was bought out. Since then I have looked for a job but haven't found one that fit. In that ten month span, I have worked part-time and temporarily. I have helped friends businesses and done odd jobs. I also had to travel to a funeral overseas. Here is how I want to handle it in my resume.: 7/06 to Present Part-time/Temporary Work · Mover, Clerk, Package Handler, Customer Service and Sales · Overseas Travel
Is this how I should describe my time away from full-time employment, or just try to explain it in an interview.

You can definitely include your part-time and temp work on your resume to show what you've been doing recently. Try to include a more accomplishments-oriented description, though. If you've done sales, how did you contribute to revenues and market-share growth? If you've done customer service, how did you improve the customer experience and how did that impact sales? Think about the results of your work. Even if you weren't paid or if the assignment wasn't for very long, you probably made excellent contributions that you can highlight on your resume.
