Temp. to Perm Position I declined
Hi, I'm currently in the middle of a temp. to perm. position. The company offered me a full-time position, but I'm choosing to leave. So right now, I"m listing the position as from January 2007 to Present. Should I indicate that it is a temp. to perm. position and that I declined? That should help explain that I'm not a job hopper. Please advise. Thanks. Just list it as a contract position that you' re currently at until you leave, but don' t volunteer until you' re asked that you declined the position. Good luck.
contract position like this..... Financial Analyst - Contract ??? It could be misread that you were responsible for doing contracts as a financial analyst which you don' t want to say. You could try this: "Contract position for XYZ Staffing Agency: Financial Analyst from 2003 to present, (Name of company) responsible for..." which is much clearer (I would suggest after you make up a resume, post it here without your personal info for a critique). if i don't mention anything about it being a temp. position and given that its only a 5 month position, will people still give me an interview? Please note that I graduated in January of this year. I worked at the position since then. Also notice that I don't have an objective. Is that ok? I find it to be pretty pointless.
I think you should mention that your position is temporary so employers don't think you're job-hopping. You can write: Financial Analyst (contracted through ABC Agency). Your cover letter can mention that although you were offered a permanent position (it looks good that your performance is valued highly), you are seeking a position that is more focused on... (describe what you're pursuing). Good luck, Kim Isaacs The Resume Expert
Should I indicate on the resume that I declined the position? I really want to, but I don't know how to go about doing it wihout seeming tacky. | |
