Moved a lot, but companies failed
My resume shows that I've moved a lot in the past 5 years, but it was because two companies i worked for shut-down. I wonder if HR looks at the 4 cities I've lived in as a negative without realizing that in 2 of those cities, the companies failed so it wasn't wasn't that I wanted to move, but rather had to to find work. Any ideas if I might be right on this and if so, how do you correct it in the eyes of the person screening resume. Thanks Consider indicating next tothe position that you were downsized. I normally don't recommend including thereason for leaving, but this will show hiring managers why you left and thatyou weren't fired or job-hopping. You can also *briefly*explain the circumstances in your cover letter. Keep in mind that many job seekers have similar experiences as yours and hiring managers are much moreunderstanding now than they used to be. Good luck in your jobsearch!
