In need of Resume feedback... help

Im in desperate need of some feedback on my resume.  I graduated with a B.S. in political science in 2005 and I was able to get a job as an legisltive analyst with the state of Florida a few months after graduation.  Because working in politics isn't a very stable job... I lost it due to change in administration in Jan. 07 and I have been looking for employment ever since.  I have sent my resume with cover letters for about 50 different positions with no luck and no call backs.

I'm starting to think my resume needs to be addressed or at least shined up a bit.  If any of you resume guru's can give me some advice I would appreciate it greatly.
