Trouble coming up with a resume title

I've never really had a job title before, at least not one directly related to my education. Even while Interning on my ID was simply "Computer Dept. Intern". What I can think of closely related to my field is the following.

"Highly adaptable and dedicated Information Systems / Information Technology Graduate"

That's pretty long and I'd like to keep information systems and information technology in it to help with searches but not sure it works. I figure the other parts were good to help attact attention to it. Is there a way to shorten this or until I get a title at a job would this work?

Thanks

First of all, there's no such thing as resume title. The "title" is your name :)
Now, about your job titles, you can euther search a database of jobs and find a suitable name for what you are doing, depending on the domain you're active in, or, you can have a research in the specific company you are applying in and see what titles the jobs related to your profile have.

Section of post does not conform with Monster TOU

Thank you. I should have been clearer, my fault. I was refering to the resume title one has to put down on a service such as Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com. There is a line at the very top when putting up a resuem, even if you use their fields or even just upload yours that you have to name the resume and from what I understand it is that name that people see when they search for potential empoyees.
NeoStar - It's best if you can include your IT specialty within the Title section, along with one or two of your top qualifications (for example: Entry-level network administrator / CCNA / Computer Science degree).

I see. Thanks, that really helps.

So something like this would work then?

"Entry-level / Information Systems degree / Instructional Technology degree"

That way the type of position I'm seeking is listed along with, like you said one or two top qualifications. Should the type of degree (BA, Masters, etc) be listed or will that be checked in the resume itself and not to worry about it?

Thanks again.
NeoStar,

If you can consolidate your degree info and add something about what you areseeking to specialize in (e.g., network administration, helpdesk, systemsadmin, etc.), I think you'll see better results:

"Entry-level Systems Administrator / Bachelor's in IS/InstructionalTechnology"

Yes, if the degree is a selling point as an entry-level professional, you should mention it in the title. As your career progresses, your title can reflect your years ofexperience, expertise, and certifications.

Good luck to you!

Kim, I need help with my title too blush

I a new MSW graduate (and newly licensed!) and my only social work experience is through my internships. I am specifically interested in chronic illness and disability and want to use both clinical and non-clinical (writing, admin work) skills.

How does this sound?: "Motivated entry-level LSW / Disability"?

I have other questions, but I'll post in a new thread to keep this on topic.

Thanks in advance!

Christine

Hi Christine,

It might be helpful to also include your MSW (even though you've earned your LSW) to get the keyword in the Title. So something like this could work: LSW / MSW Social Worker - Specializing in Disability Services (or Focus on Disability/Chronic Illness if you don't want to say "specializing").

Best wishes,
