xxx ‘06 – xxx ‘07 XXXXXX XXXXX Jr. Staff Accountant · Administered both payables and receivables · Analytically reviewed expense related accounts · Prepared journal entries and GL reconciliations for month-end and year-end closing · Performed daily and monthly bank reconciliations Here's my critique: 1) In your summary you talk much about yourself, but you don't say what you can do for your prospective employer. 2) No numbers (e.g. when you mentioned the ability to work well in a team environment, how many on that team?). You have to get specific (how many years experience is another one?). What do you mean by efficient? (what is the standard and how do you specifically compare?). 3) No mention of accomplishments (e.g. for much money did you make for or save the firm?). 4) Instead of "frequent interruptions" (which is a negative opinion), why not phrase it as "unscheduled work emergencies" or maybe even better wording? Why do you force the reader to go through five bullet points to find out you're an accountant? Use an Objective and state it right up front. | |
