How to list special item on resume

I am looking for a career in either public relations or marketing. Currently I work in retail but before that I had 14 years experience working in journalism as both a writer and teacher. Recently I participated in a documentary which had nothing to do with my current job but I think would be of interest to those in the PR/Marketing field. How can I put this on my resume and make it stand out since it has nothing to do with my current job?

Thanks

The answer in part depends on how long you've been at your current job. If less than three months, then you don't need to mention it; if more than three, then you may try a hybrid (or combo) resume.
Rosebud - The best way to include your documentary experience depends on what exactly you did for the documentary. If you had anything to do with PR, marketing, communications, or writing, you should highlight the experience and include somewhere near the top of your resume. You can add a blurb about it to your Qualifications Summary or incorporate in your Experience section (even if you were unpaid). Another option is to add a category such as "Activities" and expand on your involvement in the documentary (if it's related to your new career goal).

I would suggest listing it with your experience as it's somewhat related to PR/Marketing.  If the documentary was being used for promotional purposes, then it's definitely marketing-related.  And if it was strictly informational, then it's still marketing-related in the sense that info is being communicated to an audience.  And if you were involved in writing some of the dialog, then that's definitel marketing-related too.

Marketing and PR materials are communicated to a specific audience.  And can be communicated in a variety of ways: electronic (web), print (paper and magazines), video (television), etc.  And it involves people who can write copy and perhaps, participate or do the speaking roles.
