listing my job experiencesI received an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering (Medical Devices), in May 2005. The first job I was able to get after gradauting was at a Biotechnology company as a Project Management Analyst (PMA). Long story short, this opportunity did not work out and so I had to leave the job. Since I state this experience listed on my resume, I often getting calls for PMAopportunities from recruiters. However, I have absolutely no interest in developing a career in this area, and get frustrated when I get this calls. The only reason I took this job in the first place is because I had no other options/opportunities and have school loans to pay off. Plus, the Objective section of my resume clearly states that I am looking for engineering opportunities. I know from experience, that PMA is NOT engineering. Ironically, my then supervisor tried to capitalize on my engineering experiences and would place me in projects that would allow me to work with the company engineers and on engineering-related activities. On my resume, can I state just these engineering activites and change the name of my job title so that it sounds more engineering-related? I have feeling that the reason I keep getting these PMA-opportunity calls is the same reason I am not getting the engineering-opportunity calls that I am looking for. My concern is that if a potential employer is to call my then supervior, is she likely to state the official title and activities of my job? What do you suggest? | |
