2 Dumb QuestionsI am applying for my first job as a paralegal, fresh out of school. My two questions: 1. My resume is two pages long. Should each page have the same header on it? 2. Should my two page resume be stapled together? Thanks in advance for any advice. Let these two "dumb" questions be the only problems related to your resume you have. Thanks for the reply! I presently have my personal info header on both pages. I guess I'll try to get rid of one of those.
You should include your name, page 2, and phone number on the second page. You don't need to repeat your mailing address. I say "no" to staples -- they tend to annoy the hiring manager. Best wishes, Kim Isaacs The Resume Expert
Thanks, Kim!
To add on I would put "Page 1 of 2" on the first page in case it separates from the second page or in case both pages get stuck together (making it look like one sheet).
One Dumb Answer: The first page should contain your name, street address, city, state, zip code, telephone number including the area code and your email address. All of this data will be on five (5) lines - preferably centered - and your name should be typed in large font (14 pt.), capital letters and bolded. That personal data is considered the main heading of your resume, and it only appears on the first page! The second page contains your name on one line - left justified and right beneath your name the page number (Page Two). You spell out t w o ! That information is also left justified. As far as the two pages being stapled together, I always sent the resume out that way to prevent the pages from being separated or lost by incompetent and careless office support staff!
