resume helpI've recently signed up for the Army Medical Reserve, and I posted this on my resume. What I thought would seem to show some initiative for striving for new skills and experiences, seems to have backfired so far. Since I've added this to my resume, employers/recruiters contacting me has decreased probably five-fold. I am considering removing this part of my resume. I am thinking the employer may be not wanting to conisder me as a potential recruit since I may potentially have to take leaves of absences occassionally for my military commitments. Any comments? Thanks!
Once things settle overseas, you probably can safely put it back in.
Wow - that's a big decrease in responses. Was that the only change you made to your resume? If so, I agree that you should remove it and you can discuss your reserve status at job interviews. Best wishes, Kim Isaacs The Resume Expert | |
