Language barrier

I recently sent out an application for a marketing writing position that requires samples of my work.  I have samples of commercial copy, but all of them are in Spanish because most of my copywriting experience, as it were, was limited to translating commercials from English.  I'm not sure if the company has any bilingual employees, so my question is, how should I go about sending these samples?  Should I translate them into English, even though the original script was written by someone else, or take a chance that someone at the company may be able to understand them as is?
Your samples translated to English wouldn't be representative of your writing skills as you didn't write the original copy. If you don't have other samples that demonstrate your writing (particularly marketing) skills, you can create "mock" copy. You might want to contact one of your favorite charities and see if they need any quick content, or just create a fake campaign for a company. Also, think about other material that would demonstrate your writing skills such as projects from school or articles (even if you weren't paid).

Good luck with this position!
