Please help me!Hello everybody; I am appealing to those among you who are willing to help with advice. I am a 45-year old in mid-career, with lots of skills and experience to offer, and just completing a jr. level Business Admin Certificate at a local university, yet have been unable to find a job for over 8 months now. I am applying and looking for Team Lead, Business Analyst, Int. Project Manager, Client Relations or IT Manager type roles, yet no luck. My resume has been through several iterations, as every person consulted has different opinions. And while I appreciate the professional input I have received, I can no longer afford another service. I also wonder, if a professional is writing it, is it too sophisticated for the person who might receive it? I don't know what is getting in my way. Any insight or words of wisdom will be much appreciated and very quickly incorporated. I hate that I am having to register as a office temp in an area with reportedly low low unemployment but its at very junior levels. I think I've managed to delete any specifics so it will be generic and anonymous, but I'm not sure how to attach it. Please let me know what I need to do... Thank you for your willingness to help a total stranger and best of luck to everyone! ;-)
Just copy the entire document (CTL-A, CTL-C), then post it in a post here (CTL-V). Fella, if you've paid for more than one resume service, you've got a problem with telling services that their work stinks. Bluntly, many resume services do bad work. A good one will give you several different resumes, each one geared towards a different kind of position. If a professional writes it, is it too "sophisticated" for the reader? Two part answer: 1. If the reader is the hiring manager, he or she better understand the resume, or the resume is lousy. 2. If the reader is HR, a very good possibility. That's one reason why you should try to get to the HM if you can. Also, a good cover letter will show how well you match the position and increases the chance that you will clear HR. Thanks, Steven8322; I don't think I have a problem firing anyone if I know the work is not good, but with this, I just have no clue (which I know is a bit lame of me) I just have been looking at it for far too long...here goes:
