Frustrated in North Carolina

I am so frustrated right now. I am looking to get into HR. I have a AAB focusing in HR. I no experience in HR. I would like to get into it so bad. I have a background in training other employee' s and such. I need some help really bad. That is all I do is spend hours online applying myself to these job' s. I have a resume and everything. I know that if you go to a temp agency. They could help you get in. I was a laundry worker for about 16 years. I held various positions training other people for manager jobs. I hated it! Always someone being able to advance themselves off of me and my experience with the company. I think I am doomed with working so long with a company. I think this hurts me. People see that and say," why did you leave?" I left because it sucked and the company did not care about me at all. I can' t say that..... Can anyone help? I recently moved to NC. Hoping that would of helped me. I can' t escape my past job. It haunts me and people if anyone can help me. I would be so great full. Thanks, have a nice day

You are frustrated with good cause. Relax, say you quit, because you wanted to live in North Carolina.  Free country, right.  You need to keep trying, don't give up.  Talking things over with many professional employment agencies are your best option these days.  Especially, since you moved and new to the area.

It is INCREDIBLY hard to get into HR and there are probably a few things holding you back.

1.  You need to go on and get a Bachelor' s.  Even if you can enroll in just a class or two (check out programs for adults), then you can say that you' re working on your Bachelors and put that on your resume.

2.  You' re going to need to focus your resume so that it highlights your training experience.  It isn' t enough just to have a resume, it has to showcase what you know and can do.

3.  You' re going to have to start in something very entry-level like Admin Assistant.  You don' t currently have any business experience so that is going to be hard to get, but keep trying.  One will come through eventually.  Try temp agencies.  You may not start in HR jobs, but you can get experience in business jobs which will help.

4.  Try non-profits.  They' re more willing to overlook lack of experience and degrees.  Again, you still may not be able to get right into HR but you may be able to get into more of an office setting and work your way up from there.

Thank you for responding like that. I do show case my training capabilities on my resume. I also have one there how I consult my Fiancee in his business. I may not get paid for it. I do, do it. I am waiting to get a job before I apply myself back to school. I am looking at UNC. I have to wait though till I establish myself here as a resident of NC. It is a process. I will make it through this frustrating time. I just got a couple of interviews in the last couple of days. Also, I have read other posts from other people on here. I have joined Linkedin.com. A most excellent way to network yourself. I have gotten a response from a potential job. Also, I find that I networked on other job sites. I  am getting some responses. It is going slow, but I will find that job. Thanks again and have a nice night.
