Applying for work in another city/state
I am currently looking to relocate to the North (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, etc) how hard is it to try to find a job in another state when your resume shows other wise. How likely are the employers to even look at that resume?
I would put this information in a cover letter. Professional agencies would probably be your best source. Contact them, they don't advertise all the jobs. Mark in on your job boards like Monster. I get calls from out of state from agencies for other parts of the country seeing they saw my resume on Monster and I say I am not looking to relocate. Having them look at your resume depends on the demand for your occupation in that area. Many companies only want to interview locals of less than 50 miles from work.
Find on-line newspapers for the areas you want to relocate to and find their classified sections. When you log onto job boards, input the desired location and search the jobs available. Look for jobs that have relocation or some relocation available. Don't rule out jobs that don't say that, but keep your eye out. Get a mail box or drop box managed by someone who will forward your mail to you so that you can have a local address for potential employers to respond to.
I am desperetely wanting to relocate and ehance my teaching experience and student learning. | |
