Cant get a job

I interviewed for a job checking in books.  Quitesimple.    I was told, in a letter, that my"qualifications" don't fit.  Am I over qualified?  I'veworked for a congressman, two state representatives and have anabundance of volunteer experience in the polticial field- 13 plus yearsas alternate or delegate to state and local conventions not to mentionbeing on the local executive committee.   I have a collegedegree, am bilingual English-Spanish, and have experience in the bookbusiness (relevant to this job- I worked for my dad's smallbusiness).  I just want a job in my city.   I can'tdrive due to my disabilities (tramatic brain injury) and have left thelast 3 jobs because of illness.

I recently got out of a group home (long story, but it had to do withmy mental ilness which is under control right now) and have heldtemporary jobs since then.  I want a job now that can lead to acareer job.  If such a job is not in my future, I will doANYTHING!

What can I do?  Any suggestions you can give me would be very helpful and I thank you so much for reading this.

Blessings,
Confused me

Try www.goodwill.org then click on job seekers.  They've got some great programs to help people who have issues with skills, who have been out of the workforce for a long time and who have disabilities and issues.  You've already got skills so they can help you to find employers that will work with you and take a chance on you.  They can help with your resume and interview skills, work with you on what to say (or not to say) about your medical issues, etc.

All the best!

Tess
