Passing the Self Assessment TestHi, I am a 40 year old trying to find work in the customer service field, I have worked in this field for over 10 years.. however after taking a 1 off of work to complete home projects I am ready to get back into the workforce. Well... I have been on SEVERAL interviews, I pass the phone interview they like my resume' and my experience BUT I cant seem to pass the darn self assessment test, today I went and took a 5 part test, by the end of the testing there was myself and one other person left in the testing room (apparently the others didn't pass all of the testing) however, at the end of my test I was informed AGAIN that I did not pass the assessment part of the test.. I am pretty good with a computer and moving around in programs so that part of the test I do well on its just the assessment. I've done the Jasper and it tells me I am a 7 but this still does not help me,, Does ANYONE have an idea what is going on? This is the first time I have had to do this testing and I'm not sure what the heck they are looking for, I answer the questions as honestly as I can. PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thanks everyone :-) Hi Coralreef8* I have gone through the same process too and have "failed" the assessment test twice. At first, I took it personally and asked myself what was wrong with me. Unless you said you would not report a co-worker that was stealing, or would beat up a customer, you can not fail a personality test. You are who you are, and if they want a certain personality type to do a certain job, and you don't fit that type, they will tell you that you failed. Don't buy into this nonsense. You have got to continue to answer the questions honestly, because you never know what a particular employer is looking for. If you try to deceive the test, you will only wind up deceiving yourself. Personality tests are designed with no right or wrong answer available. You answer the way you feel that you would handle a particular situation. Your answers, do, however, have an effect on how you fair for the position as far as the interpretation of the company. Also, what does the company feel is appropriate per their policy. You may answer that you do not feel that it is appropriate to take home a pen or a pad of sticky notes and, if asked would tell someone they should not do it. Your answer, depending on company policy and feelings, could indicate that you are at troublemaker and would "be a tattletale". Or your answer could indicate that you are a person of strong convictions and appreciate others around you who are the same. This can be considered a flaw by the individuals taking the tests. Another flaw that can be perceived is that the same questions is asked multiple times but in slightly different ways. Watch out for this, because if you answer one way on question 10 and the same question, worded differently, comes up on the next page on question 15 and you answer different, you will be deemed inconsistent and unreliable. Then again, the test is set up for employers to check for consistency, so, it can be a toss up as to what is really going to happen with your answers. Sweetsue, thank you for your response, I do answer those questions as honestly as I can. lol no I dont think its okay to take things home from the office but unless they were to take a computer or something big like that I highly doubt that I would tattle, and that is how I answer it, its funny how these test can be set up to 'GRADE' these answers either way.. its very frustrating. | |
