So close but yet so far... frustrating

HI everyone...

I have a relatively decent background, but admittedly I have  moved around quite a bit in the past.  I have been looking for a new job since I left my last one about 3 months ago and have had a number of interviews. Recently, I thought my luck was changing -- I had three interviews with some really good companies.

All signs looked really positive -- they all said they liked me and that they thought I had the relevant skills to do the job but they seem to fizzle out -- I talked to one recruiter earlier today -- she seemed sort of disorganized and told me that they would rather look at other candidates for the time being. Another one told me that he would get back to me either yesterday or the day before, but it's now Friday and I haven't heard anything from them. The third place said that they want to bring me in for another round of interviews but they recently reposted the job description online which leads me to believe that they are still hoping to find that 'perfect candidate' that has eluded them for the past 6 months.

I am getting very depressed and frustrated with each coming day. Is it possible that somehow I have been blacklisted somewhere or something or cursed?

Any guidance/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Unfortunately the job market, the stock market, the housing marketing, and several other markets are just in a slump right now.  Many companies in the US are reorganizing & being extremely picky finding the right candidates to fill their open positions, assuming the positions are really open at all.

I've been out of work for over 7 months now.  I've broke my record for the number of interviews between jobs which is now at least 12 interviews.  My previous record was obviously 11 out in Silicon Valley over 10 years ago.  I've had both phone interviews & 1st & 2nd interviews with several companies where I live in Florida.  I've moved a lot throughout my career too.  I imagine it's a lot worst here in Florida as opposed to California.

Employers in Florida are so politically corrupt it's not even funny.  And I have heard just about ever excuse in the book & some that aren't in the book either.  I heard that I know about what I do for a living, but my eyes wandered too much during an interview.  I don't put a lot of faith in that opinion or in that company.  I've experience some of the most unprofessional behavior during interviews by the hiring manager telling me anyone could have worked on a project that I was showing them as an example of my work.  I've been released from a job because they told me I didn't enter the work into the computer fast enough (which was a joke).  I've even been asked to train my replacement. which I didn't do.  Even my mom was asked to leave her job her in Florida over something she knew nothing about.  So try not to put a lot of emphasis on what employers say about you during the interview & what recruiters & managers are seeking in a candidate because half the time they don't even know what they are talking about.  Either that or they want the perfect candidate which doesn't exist.  The real question is would you really want to work for these employers?  And the answer is usually no.

To me what it comes down to is words mean very little.  What really counts is action.  Action speaks louder than words & it always will.

All I can tell you is keep trying.  Believe I know it's frustrating.  I past frustration a long time ago.  If you can't find work, go where the work is.  There is nothing wrong with that.  All the more reason to move & it gives you the perfect reason as to why you had to move.   Hang in there & good luck whatever your future holds in store for you.
