Salery requirements
Just wondering how others are handling the issues of job postings that say to include 'salery requirements'. Does one just ignore this? or put down an expected range.? Taking into account the industry, your experience, the area you live, your financial status, you state that you are currently requesting $XX - $ZZ per hour or annually. Your range should ideally be the absolute lowest you can survive on plus $2000 - 5,000 or $7,000 more. $30,000 - $37,000 annually. Also, take a hint from what you have been told or regarding similar positions. Salary calculators are good for a higher base figure. So, if you are going to use a salary calculator, go a few thousand down from there and then a couple of thousand up for your end range. So, if the calculator says a decent salary for you would be $35,000, shave off 5,000 and go up $2,000.
Hi mickeysue001 Discussing salary can be an uncomfortable part of the hiring process. How much information, if any, do you have to divulge? You need to be sure you're requesting enough to pay the bills without pricing yourself out of the market. Think you've been lowballed? Learn more about the factors that weigh into what an employer offers for the job. Hope this helps! MCCathy Community Moderator Monster | |
