spamI recently posted my resume on Monster and have been getting some great responses, but the "spam" as I call it has been aweful. Here are a couple examples: Thank you for responding to our sales opportunity advertisement on the internet. I have never applied to these companies and would never think of applying. My resume was under Experienced Retail Manager, not under helpless loser that wants to pay someone else to "maybe" have a job. Any one else having this problem? There are always going to be those people who see your resume and contact you for positions that not only are you not looking for, don't want and are not qualified for, you have not experience doing. Especially if you have your resume under public view. Just continue to spam these advertisements and go on with your daily life and job search. The reputable companies will not email you like this. They will call you. You will also get calls from recruitment and temp agencies telling you that they saw your resume and have a great opportunity for you. Do what you will with them. I have my personal and biased opinion and refuse to speak with people who call from agencies. But, you can't stop this from happening. You put yourself out there, as we all did so, now you have to recognize the scammers. There is one set of scammers that you will need to watch out for and report to Monster immediately. They are the people who tell you via e-mail that in order to do something that is Monster related you have to download and extra program or pay money to keep your resume on the board, etc. This is NOT TRUE. Monster does not require payment or extra downloads. If you receive emails from them, you need to report it so that Monster can put a stop to it.

MCCathy Community Moderator Monster I used to get those same emails. Monster doesn't care. I called them many times to get them to stop these unsolicited emails and they never did a thing. I cancelled and closed my account. Monster's loss. I understand your fustration. Many people use the internet as their world not yours. I believ that the best way to communicate over the internet is to know who you are communicating with. Ask them for a telephone number or fax number. Then call it.
