Avoid Razorhire
I know when you're trying to leave no stone unturned in a job search it's tempting to rely on resume-blasting services. And sometimes they work. But Razorhire is one you may want to avoid. I am not sure how it came to my attention but I signed up for a subscription. The "basic" subscription didn't seem too robust so I opted to upgrade to the higher-priced subscription after awhile so I could actually see *where* my resume was being sent. I have used other services in the past and typically know that my resume was distributed because I would get acknowledgements. This one? I got one acknowledgement from a recruiter, and that's it. After the upgrade I could see where the resume was sent. I looked at my own company and saw that the name of the person they were sending to had left the company three years ago! So I can only imagine what the rest of the list is like. Of course it was a pain in the butt to cancel and they won't refund my most recent charge because they claim they've performed the service. Anyway - as with everything caveat emptor. This service might work for some folks in certain industries or looking for certain jobs, but if you opt to use a resume blasting service be more wise in selecting it than I was. | |
