Error on resume sent, now whatI made an error on my resume, where I indicated a dollar value of a project I worked on that was far greater than what it actually was (for some reason, I have always said it was 95 Million, but I confirmed today that it was actually 53 Million - no idea why I thought that...). I had sent out a few resume's (thankfully I found the error prior to sending it out to a bunch of companies) to potential employers with the incorrect figures on them. Now that I have found the error, what do I do with those resume's I've already sent out? Do I ignore it and if called for an interview give them the new one (and if so, how do I explain it in the best fashion?), or, do I send them the new one, and apologize for any inconvenience (which I would think would get both of them thrown in the garbage)? Any help would be appreciated please on how best to handle this faux-pas.
You don't have anything to lose if you you resubmit your resumes. Being able to acccept responsibility is actually avery valuable trait. If a company is going to toss your resume into the trash because of a typo you are correcting, then that company obviously has little to no tolerance for simple errors and probably isn't the best place to be employed. | |
