How to land a job
Hi All, I have been in US for the last five months. I now have the work authorization and would like to look for a job. I have not had any education in the US, I have an MBA from India, have worked for last 10 years and been a great customer serivce manager with a call center in India. I wonder if i will find a job that will be based on my experience or will have to start from the bottom of the rung. I am not sure whether my qualifications and experience will be sufficient or will have to study here as well? It would be great if someone can point me in the right directions or give tips on how to land a job a good job!! cheers vrushali Good customer service skills are sought the world over. You may be required to take a small step back until you get up to speed with the corporate culture and after six months you will be up to the same level you were in India.
Do loads of research on the internet and apply to companies direct as most organisations now advertise their vacancies on their own websites. You may also need to register with a variety of agencies so that you dont limit your possibilities. Portion of post does not conform to Monster TOU
hey thanks I am applying directly to companies and looking at recruitment agencies as well..... well....let see....what happens....any tip on what kind of salary one should ask for with 10 years experience....??? Do not mention salary unless the interviewer bringsit up. You do not want to price yourself y out of themarket. If you are unsure of the salary, ask what salary the jobis paying.
It is ideal to wait until you have a firm offer of employment before you start negotiating your salary. Rushtrip, salaries vary greatly from company to company and industry toindustry. Work out the minimum salary you would expect and workfrom there. Wishing you every success. Personal site was removed broke Terms of Use http://about.monster.com/terms/
