Phone Interview

So here I am..one another step to my job searching journey....

I interview last friday for a postion that I am very interested in..it was all the same things I was doing at my previous company, but not in a retail setting YAY!!, anyway...the interview lasted two hours and went very well, when I got home I sent a killer thank you letter. Anyway...she called me this morning to set up a phone interview tomorrow. Now the last time I had a phone interview was when I applied for a job internally in my old company and it was with 10 district managers, needless to say I got the job and they said that I had the best interview.
Now I am just wondering what to expect so I can be prepared...Advice would be great.

THANKS!!!

The questions will be about the same as your previous interview. Stick with the same answers because they will be looking for consistency in that area.

I have never heard of a phone interview after a face to face, but different companies do different things, I guess.

Same rules a any phone interview apply:

  • Go to a quiet place
  • Make sure your phone is charged
  • Make sure you are not disturbed
  • Have your Resume in front of you for quick reference, if needed
  • Take notes
  • Research the company
  • Have notes with questions written to ask
  • Smile as you answer the questions, it will go through to the interviewer
  • Don't have your speaker phone on
  • Don't have your television on
  • Don't ask interviewer to hold while you switch to caller waiting

Be clothed and not in your jammies. It helps sometimes because you feel as if you are actually on an interview and not talking to your cranky ol' uncle.

Good points...thanks...I am assuming its a phone interview due to the Regional HR Manager living off of Long Island. ...

Thanks!!
