Do I follow up againHere is the scenario: 1. Monday October 1, went to an out of state interview for a great job! Interview went good, they expressed wanting me back for a second interview. They were trying to arrange it for that day since I was from out of town, but it didnt work out. (Person with whom 2nd was to be with wasnt available) 2. Emailed thankyou on the next day. Expressed that I was contacting refernces and would forward asap. Also stated I would come back at their convenience for second interview. 3. Heard nothing, emailed interviewers personal assistant, who originally arranged interview. Inquired as to the reference format ( letters or contact numbers) 4. Response back the next day, stating they will contact me "next week" regarding the position. 5. Next week ended last Friday...heard nothing. What do I do now???? Please advice would be appreciated
SQhootie Stop emailing. Call, on the phone tomorrow to the contact person and ask the status. If they haven't decided yet, ask when to call back again.
Tess Thanks for the response, I took your advice. I called this AM and the assistant answered. I told him who I was and inquired as to the status. He told me they were still in the process of reviewing and that they would be sending out a letter in the next few days. Then he remembered me and said he would check with the owner about the status. He said they would get back to me by the end of the week. Should I email the owner whom I interviewed with to restate my interest, or call him (dont know that I could get him on the phone) Ugh!
SQhootie You need to LISTEN when they talk. The assistant said he'd check and get back to you. Let him check. If you don't hear from him, call him again (on the phone) late Monday or Tuesday of next week. I know you're anxious, but you can't rush things. The only answer you can rush is a NO.
