Trouble Finding Entry Level Job

I am having trouble finding an entry level job in Information Technology. I have done a few projects here and there but now I find myself in need of a permanent job.I am considering taking a job that is not Information Technology related but I dont want to go back to doing what I use to do before getting my certification in computer repair. That type of work which was a warehouse clerk was a dead end job. I would like something anything in an office, while I keep lookiing for work in Information Technology and continue studying what do you think what type of jobs / postions should I think about. Also how will employers react knowing that I ultimately want a job in computer repair. Will they deny me a job because they think I am not going to stay at that job. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Your best bet is to find a company that has its own IT department. After procuring an entry level position as, perhaps, a file clerk or data entry clerk, make friends with the IT department. Make it known that you would like to go further with the company by obtaining a position with IT.

Yes, you will be denied jobs if the empoyer thinks you are going to quit as soon as the first computer related gig comes along. When you go for your interviews, the interviewer might ask you something like, "Where do you see yourself in 3 years?" Say something like: "My goal is to work and study my way into a position within (name company)'s IT department."

With that answer, you are saying you still want to stay in that company but doing something in a higher level.

Have you tried looking for a government job?  I recently entered the government workforce with no experience at all.  The important thing is YOU NEED TO PASS THE TEST.  The test is not too difficult at all.  Anyhow, I used this website to view current job vacancies...maybe u can use it as well.  http://www.cityjobslinks.com
