Any advice please!!!I' m 24 with a Bachelor' s in Business working in Sales Development, meaning I support our Sales Force and mostly work on Proposals, and RFPs. I' m taking online courses for graphic design and I feel like I need to change my job/career asap. Fortunately I live close enough to NYC to really consider moving there for this career change, but I want to try and find a job that will use both my business degree and hopefully in the future my creative side/education. Any advice or tips, I dont know any people in the field who can advise and mentor. You can only do so many entry level job searches before going crazy!!! Any advice on what kind of job I should be looking for?? Go see the career center at your alma mater. They can sit down with you and do testing on your skills, interests and abilities. They can tell you what kinds of careers you' re suited for as well as give you data on the job outlook in those fields. Then they should be able to provide some job postings or suggestions on those, revamp your resume, show you what the career path is on those jobs, etc.
With your biz degree and creative aspirations, why not start your own marketing/graphics firm. Many buisinesses outsource their creative needs. You can utilize your education from both fields. Plus, if you hire the right support team, you could have yourself a very lucrative career.
You will always feel like you need more experience... don't sell yourself short. If you are determined enough, the sky's the limit. I have seen many folks even younger than yourself be very successful (and lucrative) based on their drive and determination alone. You've just got to want it bad enpough. | |
